Clearly, it’s been a rough road for the New York Knicks as of late. However, we will be naming a player of the week to help New York fans continue to see the light through this dark time in Knicks basketball.

Although we all hoped New York would be better positioned to compete after last season, it just hasn’t gone our way. However, there’s a lot of young talent on this team that can help the Knicks compete sooner rather than later.

With the player of the week, we can focus on the positives New York has shown rather than focus on what’s gone wrong.

The award will be chosen based on a multitude of factors: A player’s impact on the totality of the game, their ability to make other players around them successful, and their overall contribution to the team.

We’ll have breakdowns of the chosen player’s performance and a breakdown of the most deserving runner-up. We’d love to hear your thoughts, too! Let us know on Twitter @DailyKnicksFS if you think that we got it right. If not, tell us why!

The Knicks had three games this week which were used in evaluating the player of the week. Upon returning from the All-Star break, the Knicks played the Miami Heat on Feb. 25. The Knicks then played two games against the Philadelphia 76ers on Feb. 27 and Mar. 2. All three games ended in losses but there was a clear bright spot.
