Recently, one of Daily Knicks’ sister sites, Hoops Habit, published an article titled, “5 dream targets for the New York Knicks in 2022 NBA free agency.”

This is always a hot-button topic when discussing basketball’s orange and blue. Sadly, the Knicks are more often known for seeking big-name free agents than actually signing any.

And while the title of the piece evokes “5 dream targets,” I wouldn’t say many of the names listed will exactly be highly sought after, especially by New York fans.

I absolutely give the author Jack Simone credit for trying though, as this upcoming free-agent class isn’t very star-studded.

Not to mention the Knicks could use some help across the roster. Stars are great and essential if you plan on winning games, but role players are just as important.

Analyzing 5 potential New York Knicks free agent targets

One free agent, heck, even as many as five, won’t be the solution for New York but something must be done.

So, in this article, I am going to react to each free agent suggestion in the Hoops Habit piece. I will consider and discuss whether or not I agree each player is a good fit with the Knicks’ current and future needs. First up is the most noteworthy of the bunch.
