NY Knicks Player Goals: The centers

Mitchell Robinson: Get the bag

I want to quickly say that I can’t imagine what Mitch is going through right now. His father is currently missing and I hope he’s safe and shows up soon.

Family always comes first, so finding his father should be his only focus at the moment.

Hopefully, when all is well and he can get back to focusing on basketball, Robinson’s goal to end the season should be securing his next contract.

He has played incredibly well during the last several weeks. He seems to have finally gotten past the rehabbing woes that plagued him to start the year.

I think Mitch has already proven how important he can be to a team’s success. Barring injury, many teams are likely to line up for his services in the offseason.

The Knicks should make it a priority to keep him in New York.

Whether or not he stays, Robinson would be wise to finish the season strong so that he can chase as many zeroes as possible and get paid ASAP.

Taj Gibson: Be Taj Gibson

What could I reasonably ask of Taj Gibson besides to remain a reliable presence?

Gibson doesn’t have another gear that would change the fortunes of the team, nor should aim to pull that off.

When he plays, I just ask he still gives steady effort. When he doesn’t play, continue to be a great leader and mentor for the younger players.

And maybe put in a good word for Toppin and Reddish to play more minutes with your buddy Tom. Please?

Nerlens Noel: Stay Healthy/Re-establish Value

Noel is a good player. He hasn’t played like one often when he’s been available this year, but I know he can.

The season is lost. If he needs to take a step back so he is ready for next season then he should do that. If not, then he’s gotta show he can be the Noel the Knicks got last year or he won’t be with the team much longer.
