Will Miles McBride make an All-Defense team?

Miles ‘Deuce’ McBride was one of what looks like three second-round steals for the Knicks in last year’s draft.

And while he hasn’t had too much time on the professional court, he’s shown out early and often in the G-League.

He may never light up a scoreboard with 20 points per night, but his pestering defense reminds me of Patrick Beverley when he first came into the league.

I truly believe that in a few short years, McBride will make either first or second-team All-Defense.

Anytime I have a chance to share the video of Deuce locking down former 1st overall pick Cade Cunningham on two consecutive possessions from back in college, I will.

For a guy who was drafted 36th overall to shut down the man who people were calling the second-coming of Luka Doncic is astounding.

His willingness to pick up his man for the full length of the court on almost every single play will never go unnoticed by me, nor should anyone not appreciate it.

That kind of constant defensive pressure results in good things happening for both the defense and the transition offense for your team.

As I mentioned, Deuce may not be capable of scoring in bunches in the big leagues but he’s been putting in the work down with Westchester.

If he keeps developing his offensive tools and skillsets, he’s gonna be a problem once he comes up to the Knicks full time.
