New York Knicks vs Golden State Warriors: Best Bets and Predictions
I’m writing this article more so out of necessity as opposed to enjoyment because the New York Knicks are back to being the laughing stock of the NBA.
It literally took a global pandemic to make them great again, but now, here we are…back in the dumps.
And now, coming off of four straight losses, the Knicks have to take on one of the best teams in the league in Golden State.
New York will also be without their budding star in RJ Barrett for tonight’s contest…one of the lone bright spots the team has had in recent weeks.
Here are your best bets for tonight’s New York Knicks game
Spread:
Knicks +9.5 (-110)
Warriors -9.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
Knicks: +350
Warriors: -450
Total:
217.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
As we now know, the Knicks found some issues in trying to deal off any of their veteran players at the deadline because they’ve been forced to play guys outside of their roles and positions for practically the entire season.
This caused the value of some of their role players to tank.
I shudder at the thought of how Thibs is going to manage his rotations moving forward, as he’s got 11 players on the team worthy of playing meaningful minutes today.
And with Derrick Rose on his way back, that makes 12 players total. But let’s just focus on the game tonight.
I truly believed the Knicks could at the very least cover the massive spreads given to them against either Utah or Denver, but as we know, both were covered with ease.
So now we have a 9.5 point spread for tonight’s game and my first inclination was to of course take the Warriors at -9.5 without thinking twice.
But hold your horses a bit.
The spread has been jumping around from 9.5 to 9 to all the way down at 8.5, only to force itself back up to 9.5.
The public was all over Golden State -9.5 this morning and yet the line drops? Sketchy to say the least.
Also, while the Warriors are one of the best teams against the spread this season, especially at home, they’re only 4-7 against the spread in their last 11 games.
So even though they’re winning games, they haven’t been covering spreads well at all as of late.
Mind you, this is the second leg of back-to-back games for them and they played against the Jazz in Utah just last night.
So they’re on very little rest and Utah was able to hold them to just 85 points.
I’m not saying the Knicks have a chance of winning here but perhaps they can keep it close enough to cover the spread??????
If not, I’m fading the Knicks for the rest of the season.
As far as the point total, both teams are heavy ‘under’ teams so that’s the way I’m leaning.
The Warriors are to be without two of their best defensive pieces in Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala and are starting Andrew Wiggins are the PF spot.
So you could possibly sprinkle in a little Julius Randle Over points into your parlay or take it straight up.
Final Verdict: Knicks +9.5 and Under
