The next 4 potential NY Knicks trade targets this season
Should the NY Knicks trade for Dejounte Murray?
You could argue that Dejounte Murray is the best player on this list with the way he’s been playing this season.
De’Aaron Fox is a borderline All-Star but Murray has absolutely been the better player of the two.
Not only that but he’s by far the best fit of the entire bunch.
So why is he 4th on the lost, you ask?
Because there are far fewer reasons for The Spurs to move on from their 25-year-old Star Point Guard who’s on a phenomenal, team-friendly contract and is locked up with the organization for another 2.5 years.
It’s clear that San Antonio stinks and they have younger guys they may want to build around for the future.
Murray being 25 shouldn’t prevent them from building around him alongside the young cats.
So that’s why he’s last on this list.
There are two primary reasons why the Knicks wouldn’t be interested in Murray and it’s because it would likely cost them more than what he’s actually worth via trade to pry him away from the Spurs.
And that he’s represented by Rich Paul, who’s got a long-standing business beef with Leon Rose.
As we’ve seen, Leon Rose is not overpaying for anybody. He’ll swindle anyone he comes across via trade.
I don’t see him breaking the bank for Murray just to pry him away from Coach Pop’s cold, aging hands.
But if the price is right…
