Rumored NY Knicks trade target No. 2) Caris LeVert

Next up on our list we have yet another young talent in the likes of Pacers wing, Caris LeVert.

Traded to Indiana early on during last year’s campaign in the multi-team blockbuster that sent James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets, the 27-year-old was viewed by the franchise as a potential building block to help construct a new-age foundation alongside All-Star centerpiece, Domantas Sabonis.

Since arriving in Indy LeVert has actually proven to be quite an impressive commodity from an individual standpoint, posting per-game averages of 19.4 points, 4.5 assists, four boards, 1.3 steals, and just over half a block.

Unfortunately, however, his production has not exactly translated into much team success, for the franchise finds itself sitting down in the 13th seed out in the Eastern Conference standings with a lackluster record of 15-27.

As a result of their poor season turnout, it has been reported by numerous outlets that the Pacers are open to the prospect of fielding offers for some of their top-billed talents and, of course, the sixth-year veteran is amongst those who could be available.

With this, LeVert has found himself linked as a potential trade candidate for the NY Knicks, with many citing his scoring and solid playmaking abilities as reasons for why the franchise should be interested.

That said, is a crafty scoring wing really what New York needs to climb out of the hole they’ve dug themselves into? Already we find the likes of RJ Barrett and now, with Thursday’s surprising trade, Cam Reddish providing contributions similar to those which LeVert would bring at the same position.

Not only this, but the Knickerbockers should seriously be considering bringing on players who can help continue to better space the floor while also having the abilities to excel off the ball when on offense.

LeVert is by no means someone who will help in either of these areas, for he boasts a sub-par 3-point shooting clip of just 33 percent and is someone who likes to demand the ball.

Because of this, we believe that the wing landing in NY would just make things a bit too complicated and simply would not address the team’s serious issues.
