The New York Knicks have just two games left in 2021, and both matchups should be very winnable games.

Ending this year on a winning streak will do some good for a team that has had its ups and downs this season.

All in all, there are still a lot of positives to look back on from this very special year.

Tonight’s matchup is an Away game against the lowly Detroit Pistons who the Knicks just beat in The Garden 8 days ago to the tune of 105-91.

Here are your Best Bets for tonight’s New York Knicks game

I’ll be honest here, I’m not 100% sure how these health and safety protocols work and when players are able to get back to playing but as far as ESPN is concerned, the Pistons should be without the following players:

  • Jerami Grant
  • Kelly Olynyk
  • Cade Cunningham
  • Saben Lee
  • Killian Hayes
  • Isaiah Stewart
  • Rodney McGruder
  • Trey Lyles
  • Cory Joseph
  • Josh Jackson

Safe to say, Detroit is coming into this game a bit handicapped.

The Knicks got back pretty much everyone from their Covid list, so the only major blows to the roster are Derrick Rose (ankle) and Nerlens Noel.

New York is playing this game back-to-back after beating Minnesota last night, so some of the players could be a little tired.

Without Rose in the lineup and Kemba Walker having the knee issues he’s had his entire career, perhaps Thibs utilizes rookie Deuce McBride a bit more at the point.

The Pistons are the more well-rested team, having played their last game on Sunday but they’re also coming off of 3-straight losses.

As per WynnBet, the Knicks are the favorite in tonight’s contest by 7 points, with the moneylines set at Knicks -290 and Pistons +230.

The Over/Under is set at 209.5 at the time this is being written.

The Knicks now have a record of 15 and 19 against the spread on the season while Detroit is only marginally better with a record of 15 and 17.

Both teams have had difficulties covering their points this season so there’s no real tell there.

Detroit has hit the Over 17 times this season which is good for 53.1% of the time while the Knicks have been a huge Under team all season, and we’ve made some money in the last few weeks when betting the Under.

New York has gone Under in 55.9% of their games this season.

Even with Detroit being the inferior team, they’re coming off of two days of rest but more importantly, two days of preparation for the Knicks who just beat them less than a week ago.

The Knicks as I mentioned are on the second leg of back-to-back away games, having to fly straight from Minnesota to Detroit last night.

Even with all of their potentially missing pieces, the public’s money is heavily on Knicks -7 and the Over.

On the season, the Knicks also have a 2 and 2 record on games with no rest, so keep this in mind as well.

Final Verdict: I don’t want to touch the spread in this one, so I’m parlaying Knicks ML -290 and fading the public by taking Under 209.5.
