New York Knicks trending UP: Obi Toppin

How can you not keep giving this guy more minutes?

Obi Toppin is one of those players who makes his role look easy.

Whenever Obi Toppin is on the court, he is being used primarily as an off-ball weapon. Whether it’s sprinting in the full court or diving to the rim in the halfcourt, he is a stick of dynamite just waiting for someone to pass him the ball.

He is unbelievably talented at getting open. That’s why it looks easy for him… because he’s always open.

There just aren’t many players who have Toppin’s blend of size, speed, athleticism, and motor.

Obi Toppin’s motor is what really makes everything come together and it’s why people are so passionate about wanting to see him on the court more. It’s his effort and “gusto” that really stands out and should be rewarded.

It’s not just plain effort, he’s actually having a consistently positive impact on the team’s offensive and defensive output when he’s on the court.

Toppin has the highest player efficiency rating of anyone on the New York Knicks.  He averages about 20 points per game in his per 36 minutes stats.

The Knicks on/off efficiency stats for when Toppin is on and off the court are astonishing.

Who cares about positions right now. Just get this kid on the court.

As a power forward, small forward, center, whatever it may be, he makes the team better.

Toppin’s electric play has been on the rise and should continue to grow in 2022.
