This tumultuous New York Knicks season has been discussed quite frequently among reporters and fans alike.

Whenever there is trouble in Knicks land, it always leads to “rumors” and panic. While criticism of the team has been warranted, I’m not so sure how different the long-term outlook is for them.

New York Knicks: Is a big trade in the cards?

New York is in an interesting spot. They are underachieving, but they’re also just a few games out from the playoff hunt.

This is also a deep team. From central players, to rising young talent, to useful veterans, there are desirable assets of all shapes and sizes up and down their roster.

We could see the Knicks potentially look to make a roster upgrade. Maybe they look to move some of their role players around and try to add a new key piece.

However, just looking at the landscape of the league and the temperature around the team, I wouldn’t expect a big trade to appear anytime soon. There are a few reasons why.
