New York Knicks who could shine in 2022 — Quentin Grimes

This is going to be going off the energy that was mentioned with Kemba Walker.

Of the two highest-paid New York Knicks, Julius Randle seems to be the one who isn’t going to have a role change.

Now while I don’t see Evan Fournier being completely banished from the rotation, I think there is going to be room for him to have a diminished role if he can’t start stringing together consistency.

Fournier is playing way below expectations.

It’s not just poor shooting, it’s just not a great fit right now with him and the New York Knicks.

Watching these games, he’s not as intense as others, he isn’t diving for loose balls, he isn’t making a major difference aside from the games where he has a shooting outburst, and those have been few and far between.

There should be a point where the Knicks actually utilize some of their other players, and Quentin Grimes might be able to give them more productive minutes.

Grimes is an active defender, and right now, the Knicks perimeter defense is bad. It needs help.

We saw Grimes have a career night shooting the ball last time he played big minutes.

If he can replicate Fournier’s shooting but give the team better defense? That just might carve a path to playing time in 2022.
