Should the NY Knicks consider this deal for Jalen Brunson?

As we know, the Knicks recently benched Kemba Walker so his time in New York is likely over, therefore, moving him to a team with one of the faces of the NBA could be a desirable destination for the former All-Star.

Brunson is really the only other perimeter playmaker that the Mavs have, so losing him would be detrimental to the team…unless they are able to replace him with Kemba.

While Dallas could just let Brunson’s contract expire and try to re-sign him in the offseason, they’re likely not going to have the money to do so.

Brunson is having the best year of his 4-year career this season and is going to be looking for a massive payday…one that Dallas should be reluctant to consider.

He and Luka don’t start together, nor do they share the court very much.

Dallas would be out of their minds if they give a huge contract to a ‘backup’ point guard.

The Knicks on the other hand could start Brunson on day one and would happily fork over the money he’s worth.

Brunson is a winner. He won two National titles with Villanova and is just an out-right dog on the basketball court.

He’s averaging nearly 15 points, 4 boards, and 5 assists in just 29 minutes of play in a reserve role.

Give him the keys to an offense and he’d be worth any contract that the Knicks give him without a doubt.

Both the Knicks and Mavs are unsure what they want to do with Mitch and Brunson, so why not swap them for one another?

Last but not least, the Knicks also acquire Mike Muscala who brings a different element to the Center position in that he can stretch the floor.

He’s no Myles Turner but I’m certain Thibs can coach him up to be a more viable defensive option while also shooting 43% from deep this season.

The Thunder get two 2nd rounders from the Knicks as a thank you for taking on Maxi Kleber’s contract for the next two years.

What say you, Knicks Nation? Yay or Nay on this trade?
