The New York Knicks and the rest of the NBA are in the midst of another COVID crisis.

The latest variant of the Corona Virus has spread at a rapid pace and has had a significant impact on the NBA in recent weeks. We are watching players drop like flies and right now teams are suffering.

New York Knicks have been rocked by new wave of COVID

The entire product of the league has started to suffer. You never know who is going to be in and out of any given game, and there doesn’t seem to be any immediate end in sight.

NBA Insiders Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski are tweeting out COVID player updates as if it was the NBA draft.

Right now, the New York Knicks are fighting to field a roster. Below is a list of their players currently affected.

List of New York Knicks in COVID Protocol

  • Obi Toppin — In COVID Protocol since 12/11/21
  • RJ Barrett — In COVID Protocol since 12/12/21
  • Quentin Grimes — In COVID Protocol since 12/14/21
  • Kevin Knox — In COVID Protocol since 12/16/21
  • Immanuel Quickley — In COVID Protocol since 12/17/21
  • Miles McBride — In COVID Protocol since 12/18/21

The list keeps growing.

Oddly enough, it feels like every time one of these players has a breakout performance, they’re in the COVID protocols the next day.

Obi Toppin had a career-high 19 points and was ruled out before the next game.

Quentin Grimes had 27 points with a team rookie record for 3-pointers and was ruled out the next game.

Immanuel Quickley dropped in seven 3-pointers and a season-high 24 points and was ruled out the next game.

Miles McBride had a commanding performance at point guard and played 35 minutes and finished with 15 points, 9 assists, and 4 steals. He was ruled out this morning.

It’s some sort of sick joke!

On top of their COVID concerns, Knicks point guard Derrick Rose is also iffy with an ankle injury.

New York was already having a difficult season, and now, they’re going to have to battle through the holiday season with a severely depleted roster.
