New York Knicks: The Pros and cons of a Myles Turner trade
By Adam Kester
Pro #2: The New York Knicks get an ascending talent
I briefly touched on Myles Turner’s increased efficiency shooting the ball and maybe it’s the start of something more permanent.
Turner has seemed to be stuck in the same role and level of performance since his 2nd year in the league. Turner actually hasn’t hit the same scoring or rebounding totals since his sophomore year and this is now his 7th season in the NBA.
He’s just hitting his prime now, and it looks like he’s finally taken another step forward this season. Myles Turner is still just 25 years old.
He has posted his best box plus/minus numbers of his career by far this season.
It seems as though there could be some fringe All-Star level potential there for Turner and he might just be beginning to scratch the surface.
New York could be an opportunity for him to grow even more as a player. Turner has expressed his desire to be seen as more than just a role player and New York could provide him with a prominent role.
Expectations would certainly be higher for Turner if he were to come to play at the Garden.
These are the types of potentially budding stars you want to see the Knicks go after. At 25 years old, Turner has a lot of prime basketball left in him.
