Has Alec Burks been the New York Knicks’ best player?
We’re starting off by continuing to talk about the menace that is Alec Burks. For the second straight season, Burks has been the team’s Michael Jordan.
In all seriousness though, if he taught a MasterClass, it would be on how to ditch your human form for a stick of dynamite.
While his overall stats don’t jump off the page (9.9 points on 43 FG%, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists), his impact has been clear once again this season.
Burks has already put on several shooting and scoring clinics off of the bench as evident by his eleven 10+ point games, including two 20-bombs.
The best part of his game so far has been the three-ball. He leads the Knicks with a blistering 44% 3PT clip.
By doing so on 4.4 attempts per game, he is putting up shooting numbers very similar to what he accomplished last season.
Another pleasant staple of his game has been the defense. Burks has clearly been the best perimeter defender for New York aside from RJ Barrett.
He seems to have stepped up that area of his game, which is vital considering the occasional shortcomings of Evan Fournier, Kemba Walker, and others.
He is also averaging 1.1 steals per game, currently a career-high.
Lastly, he is clutch AF.
