The New York Knicks have excellent roster depth

In a league dominated by “star players” and creating contenders around stars, depth and roster strength often get overlooked.

It’s a long season. Every season is a long season.

The Knicks have already had some spot stars and minor injuries pop up, especially at the center position.

How many teams have we seen already lose players to injury? Whether they’re multiple month injuries, multiple week issues, or just day-to-day problems, you need the firepower to not miss a step.

The best teams can persevere through injuries and find ways to win. The New York Knicks are one of the best-equipped teams to do exactly that.

There aren’t many teams that can have multiple injuries and feel great about their replacements. The Knicks could have multiple injuries to starting perimeter players.

As a hypothetical, let’s say Kemba Walker and RJ Barrett have to miss time. The Knicks can fill that with Alec Burks and Derrick Rose. They have guys like Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes who can take on more responsibility coming off the bench.

Not many teams have this luxury.

There will be games throughout the season that may seem minuscule as they happen in real-time but will end up being important wins down the line due to the Knicks’ depth.
