It has been a tumultuous stretch of basketball for the New York Knicks.

New York has lost five of their last seven games. After a red-hot start to the year, New York suddenly finds itself in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference. They now sit at 7-6, tied for 7th in the East.

New York Knicks: Can they get out of their slump?

It’s been a long stretch of inconsistency for this team. Playing up and down to competition, taking whole quarters off, players having long cold spells — It feels as though even when the Knicks have done well, it hasn’t been easy sailing.

Think of two of their biggest wins of the season against the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. Both of those games nearly ended in devastation. The point is, even some of the Knicks wins have seemed like a relief more than A victory.

The vibes are off. There is a certain je ne sais quoi missing from this team right now.

It’s not panic mode time. Take a look around.

The defending champions Bucks are 6-7. The Atlanta Hawks, who bounced the New York Knicks in the playoffs last year, are 4-9.

What about some of the teams that have been the talk of the league? The Miami Heat? They are a half game ahead of the Knicks in the standings. The Bulls? They’re 1.5 games ahead of the Knicks in the standings.

There’s a lot of season left and the New York Knicks are equipped to make it through the regular season storm. Here are a few reasons why.
