This NY Knicks team, built by team owner Leon Rose and general manager Scott Perry, has hope and promise for the first time in years. With that being said, the Knicks have added a good balance of young talent and veteran leadership to go along with an abundance of draft capital.

However, I feel that one trade asset that the Knicks currently have should be moved as soon as possible to acquire more assets. That trade asset is Knicks promising center Mitchell Robinson.
There is no question surrounding Robinson’s talent, as he is one of the better and younger centers in this league, but the question is more about his fit with the team.

NY Knicks: Mitchell Robinon’s future unclear

Ever since using the second-round pick from Oklahoma City in the Carmelo Anthony trade to acquire Robinson, he has provided the Knicks with a unique skill set that Knick fans haven’t seen since Tyson Chandler.

Mitchell Robinson has been the Knicks defensive anchor for years and rapidly became a fan favorite by many. He has been a menace on both the boards and defending the paint along with providing the Knicks with phenomenal transition offense.

While Robinson is a potential young defensive star in the making, there is unfortunately not any room for him on this team. While he may be the best defensive player on this team, he also has a lot of trade value for a young and rebuilding Knicks team.
