New York Knicks: Is Bing Bong the New Knickstape?!

New York Knicks: Comparing the star players
The 2012-2013 Knicks held two All-Stars on their roster, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler, this current Knicks team has an All-Star in Julius Randle and while I am not expecting another one, keep an eye on Mitchell Robinson.
While Robinson won’t be an All-Star, I think he can have an almost identical impact to this team just like Chandler did back a few years ago. Chandler landed himself on the NBA All-Defensive First Team that year and won Defensive Player of the Year the season prior.
The two are very alike when you break down their games. Athletic, long, rim protector, and the ability to catch lobs.
Tyson Chandler was asked about Robinson a few months back. “I don’t think he even knows how talented he is yet.” He was raving about his untapped potential, which if a former Defensive Player of the Year is saying, it has to get you excited about the future. Even my colleagues are writing about a potential breakout season from Robinson.
Now, everyone knows the Knicks were Carmelo Anothony’s team, he was the leader. Today, everyone knows this Knicks squad is led by Julius Randle. While their playstyles may not exactly be alike, they both hold that alpha spot. You have high expectations and they deliver.
Be a leader, represent the city, and go out there and just win. Anthony understood that and New York City loved him like he was their god. You can see the EXACT same response Julius Randle is receiving, it’s almost like he took some notes from Anthony’s days as a Knick.
I could go on and on about how different players remind me of past Knicks, but the comparisons with Randle to Anthony and Robinson to Chandler I think are very spot on. I am expecting a very successful season ahead for the New York Knicks. Talk Soon.
