New York Knicks szn is finally here, and boy has it been a fun one so far….. BING BONG. By now I am sure everyone is familiar with the saying “bing bong” as it is starting to come hand in hand with the Knicks early success. And quite frankly, I can’t stop saying it myself.

Not 100% sure where it came from originally but now my brain translates it as “Go Knicks”.

Although a small sample size, it appears the Knicks look much, much different than just a year ago. There is suddenly space on the floor to operate and shooters all around the court that are more than capable of knocking down a shot when called upon.

What’s so different this year?

Well, we essentially swapped out Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock, who were very one dimensional players, for Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier who always are in a triple threat position. Thank you Leon Rose and company.

New York Knicks: Is this similar to 2012-13?

It is almost like we are watching the same team from the unforgettable 2012-2013 season where the Knicks won 54 games under head coach Mike Woodson. That team was filled with personalities and not to be forgotten, talent. They broke the NBA record of made three pointers in a single season, they had the Sixth Man of the Year winner, JR Smith, and they had an All-Star in Carmelo Anthony putting on a show every night.

And if you remember that season well enough, you’ll know that was the birth of “Knickstape” thanks to Iman Shumpert. Just like bing bong, fans would yell and chant Knickstape to show their fandom and support to the team.

The Knicks really haven’t had much success since that 2012 team but it’s looking like we may just be back, and fans are loving it. BING BONG.

As the Knicks continue to grow and play well, here are more in-depth reasons why we could be watching the 2012-2013 Knicks version 2.0
