I know some of y’all don’t like that I keep highlighting these trade scenarios by NBA Analysis Network, but these are just getting way too funny…this time we have Russell Westbrook being shipped off to the NY Knicks.

Where do I even begin with this one…

I’ll admit when Russ became available by Houston, I was someone who would have been totally on board with that idea.

Granted, this was when the Knicks truly had nothing going for them and no real direction, so injecting a former MVP winner into the mix could have been the catalyst for future success.

Russ is well-respected amongst his colleagues in the NBA and I figured if he came, others would surely follow.

Should the NY Knicks consider this Russell Westbrook trade?

But now, the Knicks have this beautiful cohesiveness and synergy we get the pleasure of watching on a nightly basis that for the time being, I think it’s best they stay away from most trades unless it’s for a top 10 player in the league.

Once upon a time, that could have very well been Russell Westbrook but now, it’s unfortunately not the case.

Here’s the proposed trade:

First and foremost, Derrick Rose has proven to be untouchable in my opinion as he’s far too important to the team both on and off the court and is crucial to the team’s early success.

His veteran presence and leadership have been second to none. For that reason alone, I say no to this trade.

To be fair, the author of the article said himself that this trade was in fact not his idea, and made some very valid points as to why this wouldn’t make any sense for the Knicks.

"The Knicks of old would have already had Westbrook on the roster a year or two ago. Bringing in name brand, aging stars regardless of the price or fit was the MO of some past regimes. But, with Leon Rose and William Wesley running the show, New York finally looks like they have a plan in place and are executing it.They have a great thing going at the point guard position with Kemba Walker starting and Derrick Rose relieving him. Adding someone with the stature of Westbrook would ruin the dynamic they are building and he is a poor fit for what head coach Tom Thibodeau has installed offensively."

The Lakers currently sit at 3-3 at the time this is being written while the Knicks are at a cool 4-1 (should be 5-0 but what can ya do?).

I’ve watched about one and a half Laker games so far this season and you can tell they’re just trying to get their footing as a unit.

The Knicks are one of if not the best 3-point shooting teams collectively but it’s not like they have many individual, lights-out shooters from deep.

The main reason they’ve been as successful as they have been so far this season is that they have guys who can hit their shots within the offensive scheme.

If you threw a monkey wrench into the equation like a Russell Westbrook, it messes up the spacing entirely.

I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly not trying to mess up what they have going on now.

Let Los Angeles figure out this mess and leave the Knicks out of it.
