The NY Knicks are off to a relatively hot start this season so far, kicking off the season with a 3 and 1 record with a marquee matchup against the Bulls on deck.

I take full responsibility for the loss against the Magic back on Sunday because the only reason the Knicks lost was that I attended the game and that’s just how my life works out sometimes…

But I digress.

Although they’ve had some incredible individual performances from the likes of Julius Randle, Derrick Rose, and Kemba Walker just to name a few, it’ll be a combined effort throughout the season that will take this team to the promised land.

Or at the very least, past the first round of the playoffs.

Where the Knicks lack in true ‘Starpower’, they make up for in depth as they’re easily one of the deepest teams top to bottom in the league today.

Who are some non-stars that’ll carry the NY Knicks in the postseason?

Other teams in the league might have 2 or even 3 players that are multiple-time All-Stars or have been in the running for MVP/have won an MVP trophy at least once, but the problem there is that when those players come off the court, the team often struggles to replicate the same success.

Whereas the Knicks have several positions in which even if the starter comes off the court to rest, the backup is just as lethal.

Of course, when it’s all said and done, we the fans will point our fingers at some of the bigger names on the roster when the Knicks either win a big game or even an entire playoff series, but it’s the supporting cast that makes the lives of those players that much easier both on and off the court.

Here are 3 players who are by no means considered ‘stars’ but will heavily impact the Knicks’ season as well as playoff hopes this year.
