Should the NY Knicks consider a trade for Bol Bol?

Ok, this one’s DEFINITELY super weird but again, it’s Spooky SZN…we’re coming with the weird stuff.

Sorry.

Bol Bol was a favorite prospect of mine going into the 2019 NBA Draft and I was shocked when he dropped into the 2nd round.

Let alone being picked all the way down at pick 44.

I get it, he’s basically always hurt but you can’t deny his talent…teams have taken chances on guys just as injury-prone and it’s worked out before.

Heck, even the Nuggets have done so with Michael Porter Jr.

In just the last couple of days, it has been reported that Bol Bol ‘liked’ a Tweet about the Nuggets trading the versatile big-man as he’s been riding the bench since he was drafted.

In 3 seasons with Denver, Bol has only played in 40 games and has been given barely any playing time at all when doing so.

If the trade deadline were nearing and if the Knicks were dealing with some injuries, I would not be opposed to them seeing what they’d have to give up in a trade for Bol Bol.

Bol Bol’s versatility and 3-point shooting allow him to play any of the three frontcourt positions even with him standing at 7-foot-2.

He could essentially be the Unicorn Knicks fans wanted back when we drafted the doofy Latvian guy.

Keep in mind, we’re assuming they do this deal because of a long-term injury to someone on the Knicks’ bench…either Burks, Obi (god forbid) or Noel.

Having Bol off the bench would also open up the idea of Obi playing the 3 for the team’s second unit which could be interesting.

That said, still, a weird scenario but a fun one to think about.

Happy Halloween, y’all!
