Isn’t great to be a NY Knicks fan again?

There’s this sense of optimism in the air that I personally haven’t felt since I became a fan…and yes, that includes the early 2010’s.

The ‘Melo Years’ were great, don’t get me wrong…but we all knew in the back of our minds that the team was built in an unsustainable way.

The Knicks hadn’t been building organically long enough to be able to make the trade they did for Melo and have long-term success.

So the window to win was short and as we know, they weren’t able to capitalize.

For me to be talking about guys that could be in New York for the long run is refreshing because as a fan, I’m so used to players coming and going.

Which NY Knicks player will be with the team long-term?

We’ve already got Julius Randle committed to the team for the next 5 seasons after playing here for two.

When guys sign a second contract with the Knicks, it’s become somewhat of a rarity.

But as it looks, we’ve got a number of guys who could potentially be here for their second and even third contracts with the organization.

Going into the offseason, I don’t think anybody was too sure what the team would look like come the start of the new season.

But it’s safe to say that we were all pleasantly surprised.

In fact, there are a few names who came to the Knicks this offseason, whether it be through the draft or via free agency that I believe could spend the rest of their careers…or at the very least quite a while as a part of the Knicks.

Here are 3 new signings that I think will be long-term Knickerbockers.
