Should the NY Knicks give M.J. Walker the last Two-Way spot?

M.J. Walker is a former Florida State Seminole wing player who’s shown an ability to create his own shots, score at will, and hit threes in both college and the Knicks’ Summer League games.

He gained a lot of fans this summer after playing in just 3 games but hitting 4 out of the 5 3-point attempts he took.

Yet another undrafted free agent that the Knicks signed this offseason after spending 4 years in college, Walker has a decent chance of securing the second two-way spot.

While he can hold his own offensively, he’s known for being a hard-nosed defender as well.

He was named to the All-ACC Second Team last season, averaging 12.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

I personally look back to the time when Walker stepped in during the Summer League to take the place of Immanuel Quickley when he was out with a sore groin.

It was against Cleveland and Walker did pretty well in every aspect of the game.

He showed he’s capable of moving the ball, shooting threes, and playing great defense both on and off the ball.

I doubt he makes takes the second two-way spot because he is just so raw and inexperienced but that doesn’t mean I would just toss him away.

I think a year or two down in the G-League with Westchester would be the best fit for Walker, at least for now.

It’ll allow him to hone his skills a bit and prepare himself for if and when he ever does get called upon.
