Do you think NY Knicks’ Tom Thibodeau belongs in this tier?

12. Quin Snyder (Jazz): 58.3% career winning percentage; 5/7 playoff appearances

11. Billy Donovan (Bulls): 58.1% career winning percentage; 5/6 playoff appearances; 1 conference finals appearance

10. Tom Thibodeau (Knicks): 58.7% career winning percentage; 7/9 playoff appearances; one conference finals appearance; two NBA Coach of the Year awards

All three of the coaches in this tier are strong, strong coaches.

Billy Donovan was a bit of a surprise to finish this high for me. His teams have just been consistently decent, which is a harder feat to pull off than people think. He also deserves a ton of credit for that bubble Thunder team.

Quin Snyder just quietly goes out and leads successful basketball team after successful basketball team. His day will come.

And then there’s Thibs, the head coach of the New York Knicks. Thibodeau is easily the strongest name in this tier.

On a personal level, I love him and think he’s the perfect guy for the Knicks right now.

He was also one of the most difficult coaches to rank on this list.

Truthfully, the only thing Thibs is missing that would vault him all the way to Tier 1 is an NBA Title. He has everything else on paper.
