New York Knicks: Full regular season schedule predictions
New York Knicks — March: In like a lamb, out like a lion
Wednesday, March 2, 7:30 p.m. – at Philadelphia
A couple of days after losing at their place, Philadelphia is going to want revenge. Really, Joel Embiid is going to want that revenge, if his legs will allow for it. The 76ers have been a problem for the Knicks recently, and even though it’s a totally different New York Knicks team, I’m going to have to see them overcome Philadelphia to believe it.
Knicks record: 35-27
Friday, March 4, 10:00 p.m. – at Phoenix
After losing in the NBA Finals last year, Chris Paul isn’t about to take a year off. His years remaining in the Association and chances at that first ring are beginning to become smaller. An even tougher Western Conference means that earning a top seed is going to be important. These are the type of games that the Suns almost need to take.
Knicks record: 35-28
Sunday, March 6, 7:30 p.m. – at Los Angeles Clippers
Believe it or not, this will be the sixth consecutive New York Knicks game broadcast on national television. The Clippers have a day off on March 5 and two days off on March 7 and 8. That means full throttle for whoever’s not hampered up too bad. Healthy Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are a nightmare to defeat.
Knicks record: 35-29
Monday, March 7, 10:00 p.m. – at Sacramento
One day later on what’s another considerately long trip out west and New York gets a needed game against Sacramento that will likely end in a win. It’s not too far of a travel day and the Knicks will get a few extra hours to help with the back-to-back.
Knicks record: 36-29
Wednesday, March 9, 8:30 p.m. – at Dallas
Unfortunately, not every game can be against Sacramento and some are going to be against arguably the best player in the world. Doncic is going to have his eyes on the playoffs all season and isn’t going to take games off against playoff-hopeful teams.
Knicks record: 36-30
Friday, March 11, 8:00 p.m. – at Memphis
Don’t lose hope just yet! I told you the start of March wasn’t going to be easy for New York. This might seem like a Knicks’ win, but Memphis is probably going to be fighting for their life at earning a spot in the top ten by the Western Conference. A home game on a Friday will draw the Grizzlies’ crowd and Morant has a clear advantage over Walker and Rose.
Knicks record: 36-31
Sunday, March 13, 1:00 p.m. – at Brooklyn
Look, it’s on ABC on a Sunday with the playoffs about one month away. At this point, the Nets are going to look like the true super team they are and any team not named the Los Angeles Lakers or Milwaukee Bucks is going to have trouble.
Knicks record: 36-32
Wednesday, March 16, 7:30 p.m. – vs Portland
Lillard is one of those players who is going to look to explode with an outpouring of points at the World’s Most Famous Arena. With that being said, I said it before, the Blazers just don’t have a lot around him. He’s a great talent, but you can’t do it alone in this league. This will end NY’s losing streak. Who knows, maybe Lillard will finally be a Knick by now?
Knicks record: 37-32
Friday, March 18, 7:30 p.m. – vs Washington
Once you see some of the games the New York Knicks have on the schedule in the final weeks, you might just want to send Adam Silver and the NBA a big thank you note. Of course, the Wizards are one of those teams that they’ll benefit from playing while trying to lock up a nice playoff seed.
Knicks record: 38-32
Sunday, March 20, 7:30 p.m. – vs Utah
I think the Knicks catch Utah off guard here. The Jazz will be coming to the east coast after playing the Bucks, Bulls and Clippers all at home. Awaiting Utah after New York will be Brooklyn and Boston. The Knicks might be the team Utah takes lightly and at a point in the season where wins are even more important for New York as they fight toward the playoffs.
Knicks record: 39-32
Tuesday, March 22, 7:30 p.m. – vs Atlanta
Trae Young will also be in playoff mode and eager to give the Hawks a convincing win over the Knicks. This game will have a playoff feel to it and although I think New York will play five times better than they did last playoffs, this regular-season game is going to Atlanta.
Knicks record: 39-33
Wednesday, March 23, 7:00 p.m. – at Charlotte
At this point in the season, it’s best not to take too much into consideration other than who has the better team on paper when at full strength. The Hornets will probably still be in the mix, although lower down the totem pole. New York also needs a win and the experience of Walker, Randle and Rose should be beneficial against LaMelo Ball and P.J. Washington.
Knicks record: 40-33
Friday, March 25, 8:00 p.m. – at Miami
Knicks fans won’t like this, because Miami and New York are both passionate fan bases with chances at making it to the next level this NBA season. However, as I mentioned before, I tend to go with whoever’s at home when these two play.
Knicks record: 40-34
Sunday, March 27, 3:30 p.m. – at Detroit
This game is as clear as day for the New York Knicks. The location shouldn’t matter – the Knicks are the better team and will want a few more wins to gain some momentum before the playoffs start. A matchup against the Pistons allows for all of that.
Knicks record: 41-34
Monday, March 28, 7:30 p.m. – vs Chicago
What’s up with all of these back-to-backs to end the season? If you aren’t irritated already then just wait a few more days. The Bulls might be searching for a strong end to the season as well, as seeding is on everyone’s mind once the calendar hits late March.
Knicks record: 41-35
Wednesday, March 30, 7:30 p.m. – vs Charlotte
Another game against the Hornets just seven days after the last one and this time the Knicks get them at home. Here’s where New York is able to put together that momentum I talked about.
Knicks record: 42-35
