Should the NY Knicks give Brad Wanamaker a shot?

No, I don’t just want Brad Wanamaker because we share the same name, thanks for asking.

In fact, I don’t want him very much at all but I still think he could be a nice piece at the tail-end of the roster.

Wanamaker is one of those hard-nosed defenders who plays his heart out every time he sees the court simply because he doesn’t exactly have the talent to be a consistent NBA contributor.

But where he lacks in skill he makes up for in effort.

The main concern I’d have would be his fit on the team’s 3rd unit because as of right now, it seems like Deuce McBride has the Point Guard spot locked up behind Kemba and D-Rose.

Wanamaker would be the kind of guy that the Knicks would keep at the very end of the bench and would only get burn during blowouts, but he’d bring veteran leadership to a unit chock full of a bunch of puppies.

The Knicks could use a guy who had to scratch and claw his way into the league because prior to his stint with the Boston Celtics back in the 2018-19 season, he went undrafted in 2011 and began his professional career overseas where he spent his first 7 seasons.

He’d immediately show the younger guys that being where they are today is a gift and they could lose it in the blink of an eye to someone who’s hungrier and wants it more.

That would definitely keep these guys on the straight and narrow while they continue to progress their careers in the NBA.

Wanamaker would also be able to share his experiences playing under some of the most well-respected coaches in the league like Steve Kerr and Brad Stevens while also coming with plenty of playoff experience.

A guy like him would prove to be most valuable during the tougher games and during the post-season.

Plus, having some additional veteran depth at the point couldn’t hurt seeing how Derrick Rose and Kemba Walker both have a track record of debilitating injuries.

3 Superstars the Knicks would love to acquire one day. dark. Next
