New York Knicks — Robinson Goals: Play at least 70 games

As the popular football saying goes, the best ability is availability. Robinson hasn’t yet earned the injury-prone label, but his season-ending fractured foot to go along with a midseason fractured hand in 2021 is definitely not promising.

He can silence doubters this year by surpassing his previous high of 66 games played in a single year. With the NBA returning to an 82-game season, it would be a positive sign to see the young center make at least 70 appearances.

Robinson is an integral part of the Knicks’ defense, as his shot-blocking prowess and incredible lateral mobility are essential to head coach Tom Thibodeau’s “Ice” pick-and-roll system.

If he can score in the double digits while improving his shooting mechanics and playing in a full season, the sky’s the limit. When you factor in his current success with reducing his fouls and improving his rebounding, it’s not hard to imagine Robinson finishing next year as a top 10 center in the NBA.

The New York Knicks should be even better than last year’s 41-31 squad, and the return of Mitchell Robinson is likely going to be a key factor in the upgraded unit. If he takes the leap that many are expecting him to, he’ll easily secure a new long-term deal with the Knicks.
