Attempting to predict where the NY Knicks will finish and how the NBA playoffs may look before the season actually starts is always challenging, but enjoyable.

Before we know it, the Knicks will be playing basketball again along with the rest of the NBA and I’ve decided to share my Eastern Conference playoff standings.

As much as it hurts to admit this, I believe the Knicks over-performed last season finishing as the four seed in the Eastern Conference and it will be much, much more challenging this year for New York.

Looking at the Eastern Conference as a whole, a lot of teams got stronger this summer with key acquisitions. I truly believe it will be a complete toss-up when looking at seeds 3-8, meaning any given team can finish anywhere.

Buckle up.

Kemba Walker came home to the Knicks along with Evan Fournier. Miami landed Kyle Lowry, Chicago signed Lonzo Ball. Who knows what will happen to Ben Simmons. There even still could be other trades on the horizon, but ultimately it’s safe to say making the playoffs this year will be no cakewalk.

The top 2 seeds are all but locked in for Brooklyn and Milwaukee. Maybe not necessarily in that order, but you cannot argue that after the Nets and Bucks, the East is really wide open for anyone to clinch a playoff spot.

With COVID hopefully, fingers crossed slowing down, teams should not be getting impacted by it so much and should be fun to watch.

Let’s get into my predictions starting with the one seed and ending with the ten seed.
