New York Knicks — Game 10 vs. The Cleveland Cavaliers
Back-to-back losses have taken some of the wind out of the New York Knicks’ sails. They were riding high on their 6-game win streak but stumbled in their last two games out in the midwest.
Now, they get to come back home to MSG and face the Cleveland Cavaliers on a relaxing Sunday late afternoon.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are just one of those teams that seems stuck. Trust me, we’ve seen the Knicks get stuck for years.
While Collin Sexon, Darius Garland, Lauri Markkenen, and Jarrett Allen could all be rated above an 80 in NBA 2K, I have a hard time seeing how this roster meshes and progresses forward. It’s a classic example of a team simply thinking that “being young” leads to eventual exponential growth.
If you have a franchise-level talent, sure. But this Cavaliers roster is filled with “solid” players and It’s hard to see how they pose a threat with all of the improved teams in the Eastern Conference.
I can see some buckets being traded between these two teams’ backcourts, but I have no idea how the Cavaliers slow down Julius Randle. This could be a 30-point triple-double from him.
New York’s bench scorers could swiftly overwhelm the Cavs, and I think this is a bounce-back game for the Knicks. They win this one easily and improve to 7-3 in their first 10 games.
