Hey Reggie Bullock, on behalf of all NY Knicks fans…you know you loved it here, bro.

I get that players are kinda obligated to say these sorts of things when joining a new team, but show the Knicks some love on your way out…

Anyway, here’s the statement by Bullock:

"“When I played against the Mavericks last year, I liked the way that they competed as a team,” Bullock said. “They got great players, so it was an easy, no-brainer for me. Being with the Knicks last year, we made it to the playoffs but I see [the Mavericks] as a team that’s taking that next step to be in the postseason.’’"

Firstly, I stand by “Once A Knick, Always A Knick”…and I will do so for the rest of my life.

Not trying to throw any jabs back at Reggie but it was pretty obvious that the front office was looking to upgrade at his position to more of a multi-dimensional scorer who could do more with the ball than Reggie could.

And to say that the Mavs are taking that next step while basically implying that the Knicks aren’t is just silly.

I think the Knicks are the better team overall today…Dallas just has one of the best players on the planet and a bunch of good role players around him.

Reggie Bullock threw a slight jab at the NY Knicks recently

So yeah, it was a ‘no-brainer’ on both sides of the departure.

Marc Berman of the NY Post had this to say:

"The Knicks didn’t need to use cap space to re-sign Bullock as they had his early Bird rights. According to a source, Bullock would have considered the Knicks had they agreed beforehand to a package, but they asked him to wait. That was not happening."

Just to peel back the curtain a bit, I’d love to root for the Mavs as I’m as big a fan of Mark Cuban and Luka Doncic as anyone.

The tall, doofy Latvian guy on the team makes that near impossible for me…and I still think the Knicks won the KP trade…I’m willing to die on that hill.

I think Bullock is a massive upgrade as a 3-and-D wing for Dallas over the recently departed Josh Richardson.

Frankly, because Bullock can actually shoot well and Richardson can’t.

Bully averaged 11 points per game on 41% shooting from deep while Richardson averaged 12 points on 33% shooting from long range.

I wish Reggie the best of luck and I’m glad he’s with a team that should have title aspirations soon.

I also look forward to him coming back to The Garden and will try my best to go see him live.

I’d just like him to acknowledge that he owes some of his success and the reason why he got a hefty payday to his time with the Knicks.
