Here we go again, NY Knicks fans…the ‘Superstars to NY’ talk is rearing its ugly head again.

Ever since the David Fizdale/Steve Mills era ended, things have been on the up-and-up for our beloved Knickerbockers.

Tom Thibodeau came in last season and immediately set the tone for what he wanted out of a young Knicks roster.

He demanded hard work, dedication, and constant effort every single day.

Leon Rose and the rest of the front office have been patiently building the team methodically, making wise and savvy moves along the way.

After a season where the entire world believed that the Knicks just ‘overachieved’ last season, the front office doubled down and re-upped 3 of the 4 major departing free agents in Derrick Rose, Nerlens Noel, and Alec Burks.

Then they went and improved two positions without overpaying or making unnecessary trades by acquiring Kemba Walker on a very team-friendly deal alongside Evan Fournier.

To the untrained eye, ala Max Kellerman, it looks as if the Knicks have locked themselves into mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

But if you look at nearly every team in league history that has found even some relevancy and success, they don’t go into every offseason with ‘cap flexibility’ year after year in hopes of signing ‘their guy’.

They make sure they remain a viable, attractive spot for big-name stars to either request a trade to or sign with, then pounce.

Everything is done meticulously and timed out perfectly.

The Knicks have more than enough draft capital to move off any of their contracts if need be, but the beauty of the deals that were dished out to their free agents this summer was that they’re all very attractive and moveable in their own right.

They are planning on making a move for a Superstar or two in the not-too-distant future and the writing is on the wall. Case closed.

Here we’ll be discussing which ones I believe are the most likely to come to NY in the next few seasons.
