Who stepped up the most for the New York Knicks in August?

The New York Knicks completed their journey in the 2021 NBA Summer League with a 104-85 victory against the Atlanta Hawks. They finished with a commendable 4-2 record, including back-to-back wins to finish off the brief season.

Coming in, there were many questions that fans had about the roster. With a combination of rookies, sophomores, and journeymen it was intriguing to see how they would mesh as a cohesive unit.

With Knicks assistant coach Daisuke “Dice” Yoshimoto leading the group, it’s safe to say that the team met or exceeded most expectations.

They averaged 93.0 points per contest and topped 100 points twice, an impressive mark considering that Summer League games are just 40 minutes long compared to the 48 minutes of a regular-season outing.

They also allowed just 88.2 points as a team, giving up less than 95 points in all six of their games.

While most of the results were positive, there were a few areas where individual players, as well as the team as a whole, could have looked to shine a bit more. This isn’t to say that the season was a failure, but instead to say that there is still some room for improvement.

Here are 3 positives and 2 negatives from the New York Knicks summer league action.
