What could Derrick Rose learn from Evan Fournier?

Similar to RJ, the addition of Fournier should provide valuable spacing for the former MVP.

Derrick Rose averaged 11.6 drives per game, the second-highest mark on the team behind Barrett.

The 32-year old had the highest plus/minus of any Knick this past season, using his excellent finishing ability as well as his superb drive-and-kick skills to wind up third in 6th Man of the Year voting.

Despite coming off the bench, Rose usually closed games out with the rest of the starting lineup so he and Fournier should have lots of chances to connect for highlight-worthy plays.

Rose’s ability to collapse defenses and kick it out to open teammates should heavily benefit Fournier, as the French forward hit 42% of his catch-and-shoot threes this past season.

The front office signed Fournier with the expectation that he can serve as the team’s tertiary scorer while also helping the rookies and vets take their game to the next level.

He’ll provide shot creation to take the offensive workload off of his teammate’s shoulders while also bolting around screens to keep defenses constantly focused on his elite shooting from behind the arc.

The New York Knicks have upgraded the small forward position in more ways than one, as Evan Fournier should easily raise the team’s ceiling while they look to return to the playoffs.
