NY Knicks 25th Overall Selection – Quentin Grimes ranks #2

Number 2 and number 1 on this list are truly a toss-up for me.

I think Quentin Grimes has the higher upside between him and Miles McBride, but not by much.

So since one was selected at the 25th pick and the other at 36th, I guess by default Grimes is #2 on this list.

I hope both players end up being tremendous for the Knicks, but I especially hope that Quentin Grimes blows everyone’s expectations of him out of the water.

The Knicks have shown an uncanny ability to find talent later on in drafts, being that Immanuel Quickley turned out as arguably the biggest steal of the 2020 NBA Draft, and he was also selected with the 25th overall pick.

Hopefully, the Knicks have the same luck this time around as well.

Before Alec Burks was given a new contract a few days ago, I was under the impression that Grimes would be taking his spot in the rotation.

Now it looks as if he’ll start his career off on the Knicks’ 3rd unit to no fault of his own.

The team wants to compete now, and while they may not be set up for title contention, today’s roster is vastly improved and can secure New York at least a first-round series come postseason time.

Grimes may very well be the best player from this draft class in 5 years due to his NBA-ready skill set and high-level basketball IQ.

But for now, since a lot of people were actually higher on the team’s 36th overall selection, he’s stuck in the 2-slot.
