The New York Knicks left the 2021 NBA Draft with four rookies, and Miles McBride may end up being the top player they came away with.

The Knicks made a slew of trades down in the draft, first trading away their 19th pick, then trading down from 21 to 25, and finally, trading pick 32 for picks 34 and 36.

Their final trade came away with some fantastic value, landing Lithuanian guard Rokas Jokubaitis with 34 and University of West Virginia guard Miles McBride with pick 36.

McBride was a fan favorite for a lot of Knicks draft junkies, and it’s easy to see why. The 20-year-old guard is an exciting prospect who can not only give the team a new punch of offense, he could be a new perimeter defender that they need.

It wasn’t a surprising pick — McBride has been linked to the New York Knicks before the draft. Tom Thibodeau reportedly loved what he saw from “Deuce” McBride, and it gives fans reason to believe he could play a big role early on.
