New York Knicks — Team USA Players to target #2: Bradley Beal

Due to health and safety protocols, Bradley Beal was unable to travel with the team to Tokyo and participate in the Olympics. However, Beal is still listed as a member of the Team USA roster, and is definitely still a player the New York Knicks can try to trade for.

Beal is one of the league’s elite scorers and like Lillard is a superstar in his own right. Needless to say, New York adding any player of that caliber would be a huge upgrade.

New York is especially in need of scoring help, so trading for the guy who finished second in points per game this season and won the NBA scoring title last season would more than fulfill that need. Targeting Beal will be an interesting task, though.

Beal has for years expressed his desire to finish his current contract with the Washington Wizards and even stay there long term. Despite this, a trade request isn’t completely off the table. Beal was shy to share his thoughts about what his future holds following his team’s play-in tournament exit. And even if Beal isn’t traded, the Knicks can still sign him in free agency in the summer of 2022 if he declines his player option following the 2021-22 season, which he is likely to do.
