New York Knicks — Team USA Players to target #1: Damian Lillard
Recently while with Team USA at their practice facility at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Damian Lillard denied reports that he had requested a trade away from the Portland Trail Blazers. However, he also mentioned that it is still too early to say that he knows where he wants to be in the future.
So, yeah. Trading for the Portland superstar is still a possibility for the Knicks.
Unless you have been living under a rock, a Lillard trade has been not just the talk of the town in NBA circles, but it has been also an especially hot topic here at DailyKnicks and all over Knicks social media.
Lillard would not only be the perfect solution to the decades-long New York point guard issue, he could be the elite player that finally puts the Knicks in contention for the NBA Championship. It will remain to be seen if Lillard wants out of Portland and what the Knicks would need to trade away to acquire him. If that time comes, New York will definitely continue to have conversations with the Trail Blazers to try and get a deal done.
P.S. The Knicks definitely SHOULD NOT trade the entire team for him!
