Player worth NY Knicks trading picks for No. 2) Collin Sexton

To this point in the offseason, perhaps the biggest storyline that fans and media analysts alike have discussed in relation to the NY Knicks has been the concept of a potential trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers to acquire estranged point guard, Collin Sexton.

Constantly linked as a possible trade target for New York, the 22-year-old has often been viewed as both a realistic and ideal player to deal for this summer and, since it was reported that Cavs GM, Koby Altman, could make the youngster “very available”, hypothetical packages have become a much more constant sight.

Despite Cleveland finishing off the year with the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference and the fifth-worst record in the entire league, the third-year talent had himself a stellar 2020-21 campaign.

In 35.3 minutes per night, Sexton went on to post a whopping 24.3 points, 4.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and a steal on 48 percent shooting from the floor and 37 percent shooting from deep.

All of last season, the biggest hole in the rotation for the NY Knicks was at the one and, as things currently stand, things haven’t gotten a whole lot more promising as Elfrid Payton and Derrick Rose are heading towards free agency and they don’t appear to be in the running for a top-flight prospect at the position in this year’s draft.

Because of this, the idea of trading some of their selections for a player who was taken eighth overall just a few years back and has proven to be an unbelievable talent in the pros could be a great move for Rose and co. to consider pursuing.
