The 2021 NBA Draft is finally here and the NY Knicks are primed to ‘wheel and deal’ come draft night.

It’s been reported that the Knicks have already made calls in an attempt to move up, but it’s also been reported that they’ve already been turned down by the Warriors for the 14th overall pick.

So trading up, in general, may have to wait until the evening during the draft.

As we know, the Knicks are armed with picks 19, 21, 32, and 58 this year…what we also know is that Coach Tom Thibodeau prefers veterans that already know what it takes to win games over developing young pups.

There were rumors that just last season, Thibs pleaded with the new front office to trade guys like RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson for more established veterans that could help the Knicks make the playoffs.

Could the NY Knicks be trading any of these players during the 2021 NBA Draft?

Boy, that could have been an absolute nightmare had the front office folded to his requests.

That said, I still truly believe that the Knicks will not come out with more than 2 players between picks 19-32.

If I had to guess, pick #58 will likely be traded for a future 2nd rounder or some sort of draft-and-stash player for the future.

Whether a team between picks 11 through 13 decide to trade out of their spot or if the teams with picks 15 through 17 decide to move down, I do think a trade will be made.

There’s also the possibility of the Knicks trading one or two of their picks out of the draft for an already established player.

So if they decide to move up or move out of the draft altogether, there are a few pieces on the team’s current roster that could be included in the deal to help ‘sweeten the pot’ a bit.

Here, we’ll be exploring exactly who those players could be and why they might be moved.
