3 Power Forwards the New York Knicks could look to draft in 2021
New York Knicks Draft: Sandro Mamukelashvili
Listed as a center by some draft outlets, Mamukelashvili would most likely play best as a 4 in the NBA.
The star for Seton Hall last season, Mamukelashvili is one of the most unique players in this draft class, because he can simply do it all on offense. At 6-foot-11 and 240 pounds, his senior stats will blow you away: 17.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 33.6% from three.
As a junior, ‘Mamu’ thrived as the second scoring option to Myles Powell. This allowed for even more open threes, where he connected at 43.4%. He’s a stretch-four that can lead the break and also score from all three levels.
Bringing Mamukelashvili off the bench would solve many problems for the New York Knicks. He’d be able to provide scoring from day one and could also serve as a legitimate reliable option to handle the ball in high-pressure situations.
Mamu also played his college ball just 15 miles down the road, so he’d be a fan favorite by many. He wouldn’t be a game-changer, but there’s no question what Mamukelashvili has to offer.
