New York Knicks Draft: Filip Petrusev

The first thing I think of when I see Filip Petrusev play is Kristaps Porzingis. The 6-foot-11 Petrusev makes quick and decisive moves down low, finishes through contact, and has a developing outside shot.

Petrusev should be on the board at 32 and could turn into a steal. He made headlines at Gonzaga in 2020, when he averaged 17.5 points and 7.9 rebounds.

Instead of returning for his junior year or embarking on an NBA journey, Petrusev headed overseas. He played for Mega Basket, a Serbian basketball club. There, Petrusev dominated, averaging 23.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. However, it was his three-point shot that really stood out. He shot it at 41.9% from deep. The FIBA three-point line is over three feet shorter than the NBA line, but it at least shows promise and his sure-fire ability to hit from mid-range.

Petrusev is a hard player, so defensively he should buy into the New York Knicks system. Offensively, he would provide depth off the bench, which is a massive need this offseason.
