NBA trade season is quickly approaching, and as usual, the NY Knicks are targeting big-name players to bring to The Garden.

We’ve all heard the Damian Lillard rumors, and now it appears the Knicks are aggressively pursuing Collin Sexton.

With all the speculation around big names, it is difficult to remember other players the Knicks could target.

The Knicks should also target many lesser-known players and attempt to trade for, instead of only just shooting for the stars.

They could also use some more role-player help, and perhaps some could develop into very useful players.

Though it is less exciting, it is essential to fill holes on a young team, especially if you can fill those holes with young players.

The Knicks could benefit from adding more shooting and on-ball defenders, and outside of Kawhi Leonard or Lonzo Ball, there are not too many great on-ball defending free agents this year.

Looking to fill holes is exactly what a young team that just overperformed as a 4th seed should do.

Big trades for stars will not make the Knicks instantly above the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets, so slowly building and developing could work better.

There are role players on some not-so-great teams and their talents are being wasted.

The Knicks have slots open for players to get starting minutes on a playoff team, putting them in the perfect position to target these types of players in trades.

Tom Thibodeau has mentioned he wants to add wing players who are good shooters, and some of these players are more than that.

So here are some under-the-radar players to target in trades.
