New York Knicks player grades for 2020-21 Season
New York Knicks: Derrick Rose | A- (90/100 points)
Entertainment Value: 10/10 points
Future with the Knicks: 7/10 points
Stability: 11/15 points (one point added for rebounding from that awful injury)
Chemistry: 20/20 points
Eye Test: 20/20 points
Statistics: 22/25 points
Entertainment Value: How can you not enjoy watching Derrick Rose? He’s battled through horrendous injuries, stuck with it, and still gives your favorite team buckets. He may not be the flashy dunker he once was, but every so often you can see the old D Rose.
Future with the Knicks: I’d give it a pretty good chance you see Rose back in a New York Knicks uniform next season. However, as an unrestricted free agent and a pretty successful season, you never know what it’ll take to bring him back.
Stability: I hate even knocking Rose for this considering how much he’s battled back to even play in the NBA consistently. However I must and even though he stayed relatively healthy, he still missed a chunk of time and likely will as long as he plays in the NBA.
Chemistry: Derrick Rose is one of those guys you want to have in the locker room. He’s an NBA vet, but also just seems like a cool guy to be around. On the court he will take whatever role you give him.
Eye Test: Another 20/20, you know what you’re getting out of Rose night in and night out. Of the 35 games he played in with the Knicks, Rose scored under 10 points just eight times. Then in the playoffs, he became a scoring force, putting up 25+ twice.
Statistics: Carrying over from that last thought, Rose had another great year, showing he’s been able to adjust to a new style of playing. Averages of 14.7 points and 4.2 assists are good enough for any 32 year old, let alone a guy with as many knee problems as Rose.
