New York Knicks: Elfrid Payton – F (50/100 points)

Entertainment Value: 5 points
Future with the Knicks: 3 points
Stability: 14 points
Chemistry: 10 points
Eye Test: 8 points
Statistics: 10 points

Entertainment Value: Payton is a pretty bland point guard and often refuses to shoot open threes to the groans of the New York Knicks faithful. It’s not that he’s overly fundamental, but Payton doesn’t take extra chances.

Future with the Knicks: It’s a pretty solid bet Payton will not be playing any more games in blue and orange. If there’s one guy on the New York Knicks with the worst chances of coming back, it’s Payton.

Stability: He missed games here and there but overall Payton was one of the most reliable players in terms of being able to play every night.

Chemistry: It either seemed like Payton didn’t play hard enough or didn’t exactly trust himself on the offensive end. Even worse than that was his mother resorting to Twitter over her son’s lack of playing time in the playoffs. I guess that’s not totally his fault but it’s not a great look.

Eye Test: Payton also fails the eye test given he isn’t efficient from the field and was turnover prone.

Statistics: Payton had two 20-point games in the first eight games of the season. He only eclipsed 20 points five more times on the year, halting what looking like a promising start to the season.
