New York Knicks Draft: Corey Kispert

It’s no secret the Knicks need shooters and Kispert might be the best from long range in this year’s draft. He was one of the biggest threats in college basketball last season and has a player comparison to Joe Harris and Kyle Korver given his size.

Kispert improved every year from three while at Gonzaga, which included two years of 43% or better from downtown. Kispert also used his 6-foot-7, 220-pound frame to back down guards in the mid-range and has underrated quickness as a cutter and defender.

It would be a bit of a steal if Kispert falls to New York at 19. ESPN lists him at 13th on their big board. Part of that is due to his maturity. As a senior who’s probably already come close to peaking, any team that drafts Kispert will know exactly what they get. That peak is already really, really good, and if he does slide to the Knicks, he’d be called upon to help fix their issues from deep. The Knicks were 21st in the NBA in three-pointers made this season.

There might be other positions that are more important to fill, but no one in New York would complain if Corey Kispert is the pick at 19 or 21.
