NY Knicks veteran point guard target No. 3) Kyle Lowry

When it comes to this year’s point guard free agency crop, there likely won’t be a better option for the NY Knicks than Kyle Lowry.

Though he may have a smaller frame, the veteran is a do-it-all bulldog on the hardwood with championship experience and, at least according to rumors, is already a high-end target by the team’s front office.

Despite missing the playoff this past season for the first time since 2013, by no means was this lackadaisical campaign by the Raptors the fault of their star guard.

In 46 games played, Lowry produced at tremendous rates as he averaged 17.2 points, 7.3 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and a steal per game on nearly 40 percent shooting from downtown.

A proven floor general who has a well-documented history of excelling as a secondary option within a team’s rotation (found tremendous success serving as second-fiddle alongside DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard), bringing on a veteran still producing at borderline All-Star levels to once again serve as a Robin alongside Randle’s Batman could be a nice move by the Knicks.

There are many reasons why Lowry makes sense for New York. The only question is, will they be willing to pay up for the 35-year-old?
