NY Knicks Fireworks Part 2: Top 10 Obi Toppin Dunks 20-21

NY Knicks – #5 – Obi’s Big Put-back: April 9th, 2021 vs Memphis Grizzlies
April 9th is was an important date for the New York Knicks this season. That night at The Garden was the beginning of the team’s enormously influential 9 game winning streak. It was the same night Knicks fans fondly remember RJ Barrett going coast-to-coast and barreling through Ja Morant to get a clutch game-tying layup. That shot forced overtime, where the Knicks won, and the rest is history.
Forgotten in that game was the hole the team found themselves in late. With just over 11 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Knicks trailed Memphis 92-83. Alec Burks was forced to get up a shot as the shot clock was expiring from the right corner. Toppin was in the left corner and went right at the basket once Burks released the ball.
What ensued was a bounce off the rim that went perfectly at Toppin, who rose up for a two-handed put-back dunk to cut the lead to 7. This great display of effort and bunnies proved crucial in the NY Knicks’ comeback win and launched the best stretch of basketball they played in 2021.
