NY Knicks – #8 – Toppin’s Tomahawk: February 13th, 2021 vs Houston Rockets

In this clip, we get another dunk from the duo of Obi Toppin and Kevin Knox.

Give no attention to the 54 seconds left in the game and the NY Knicks’ 20-point lead on the Rockets. Instead, just embrace the gorgeous off-ball movement that would make David Fizdale say, “How did they do that? Like, seriously, is that what offense looks like?”

With Julius Randle holding the ball at the Knicks half-court logo, Toppin and Knox set up on the baseline. Toppin sets a screen for Knox, who is fed by Randle by the elbow. Knox instantly turns the corner heading for the paint with his defender trailing. This leads to a wide-open Toppin also diving at the basket, who is greeted with a lob pass from Knox.

Toppin took advantage of his supreme athleticism and nice wingspan by reaching real high to complete the “master blaster” as Walt Frazier called it. And yes Clyde, it was so nice that they showed it twice.
